The realistic way to make money with Instantly is to set up and run cold email campaigns for small B2B firms, such as agencies, consultants and software shops, on domains and accounts the client owns. Fiverr’s 2026 cost guide puts ongoing campaign management at $400 to $800 a month, while bare Instantly setup gigs on Fiverr start at $15 to $40 (both checked 23 October 2026). The setup is cheap because anyone can click through it. What a client pays for every month is the boring part: clean lists, sensible sending limits, replies handled fast and a domain that is still out of the spam folder in month three.

I haven’t sold this service myself, so the numbers here come from marketplace listings, vendor pages and published guides, not from my own invoices. If you want the tool itself pulled apart first, read my Instantly review, which covers pricing, the no-refund terms and why Trustpilot removed its rating.

Which ways of earning with Instantly actually pay?
Monthly campaign management pays best for a solo freelancer, because it repeats. The other routes either pay once, pay little or carry risk you can’t control.
| Method | What clients pay (checked 23 October 2026) | Repeat income? | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup-only gigs | From $15 to $40 on Fiverr for mailbox connection and warmup | No | A race to the bottom on price |
| Cold email copy only | Fiverr guide: $39 to $50 an hour, about $110 per fixed job | Sometimes | Results depend on someone else’s list and sending |
| Monthly campaign management | Fiverr guide: $400 to $800 a month | Yes | Clients judge you on meetings, not effort |
| Pay per booked meeting | $200 to $700 per meeting (Smartlead blog) | Yes | You carry the cost if the offer is weak |
| Instantly affiliate | 20% recurring, rising to 30% and 40% after 50 and 75 referrals | Yes | Needs an audience; paid ads on the link are banned |
How does a monthly cold email service work?
You build the sending system once, then run it every week: lists in, emails out, replies handled, numbers reported. Here is the order I would deliver it in:
- Agree the target. One industry, one job title, one offer. A dentist-software company emailing “anyone in healthcare” will burn its domain.
- Buy domains in the client’s name. Use lookalike domains (not the main one) on the client’s own registrar and Google Workspace or Microsoft account. Instantly’s done-for-you domains are cheaper to set up, but Instantly keeps ownership and they can’t be transferred.
- Authenticate and warm up. Google requires SPF and DKIM to pass and a DMARC record for bulk senders. Connect the inboxes to Instantly and let warmup run before any campaign.
- Size the sending. Instantly recommends 30 campaign emails per account per day for ordinary mailboxes. Divide the client’s monthly target by that to get the number of inboxes.
- Build and check the list. Use Instantly’s lead database or the client’s own, verify the addresses and remove anyone who has opted out before.
- Write a short sequence. Three or four plain emails with a real reason to reply, the client’s postal address and a working opt-out.
- Run the inbox. Answer or route replies within a working day, log unsubscribes and send a one-page report each month: sent, replies, positive replies, meetings.
Where do the first clients come from?
Cold email, which is handy because your own outreach is the demo. Pick firms that already sell to businesses and have a clear deal size: web agencies, bookkeepers, IT support, recruitment firms, B2B software. Upwork and Fiverr also carry steady demand, but the low end is brutal: one Upwork job I opened today offered a fixed $10 to send cold emails to a list. Skip those and pitch a paid two-week pilot instead.
Worked example: three retainer clients
Say you sign three small agencies at $300 for setup and $600 a month for management, inside Fiverr’s $150 to $300 setup range and its $400 to $800 monthly range. Each client pays its own tools: Instantly Growth at $47 a month plus 8 Google Workspace inboxes at $7 each, so $103 a month plus domain fees.
Month one: 3 setups ($900) plus 3 retainers ($1,800) is $2,700. At 8 hours to set up and 8 hours to run each client, that is 48 hours, or $56.25 an hour.
From month two: $1,800 for 24 hours of work, or $75 an hour, before tax and before any client leaves. One client quitting cuts that month to $1,200. These are my assumptions, run through a calculator, not results anyone has reported.
Is setup-only work worth taking?
Only as a way in. A one-off setup at Fiverr’s bottom prices pays less than an hour of skilled work, and you hand over a system you can’t keep healthy. Offer setup as the first month of a retainer, or price it as a proper audit with a written fix list.
Can you earn from the Instantly affiliate program?
Yes, if you already have readers or viewers who send cold email. The program runs through PartnerStack, needs approval, pays monthly and starts at 20% recurring. Instantly bans paid ads on affiliate links and requires a disclosure, and it excludes coupon, cashback and spam-list sites. I haven’t joined it.

What rules apply when you send cold email for clients?
Several, and hiring you doesn’t move the client’s legal duty off them, or yours off you. The ones I would put in every contract:
- CAN-SPAM (US). The FTC says it covers B2B email too. Accurate headers, honest subject lines, a postal address, a clear opt-out honoured within 10 business days. Each violating email can cost up to $53,088.
- PECR and UK GDPR (UK). Limited companies can be emailed without prior consent, but you must identify yourself and give an opt-out. Sole traders and some partnerships need consent or the soft opt-in, and a named work address is still personal data.
- Google’s sender rules. Keep the reported spam rate below 0.1% and never let it reach 0.3%. Bulk senders also need DMARC and one-click unsubscribe on marketing mail.
- Instantly’s terms. The customer is responsible for anti-spam law and must follow Instantly’s Sending Policy, or the account can be cut off.
- The FTC rule on fake reviews. No invented testimonials or AI-written “client results” in the emails. The rule bans fake testimonials, including AI-generated ones.
Which mistakes burn a client’s domain fastest?
- Sending from the client’s main domain instead of separate lookalike domains
- Pushing past 30 campaign emails per inbox per day to hit a target
- Importing a scraped list without verifying it
- Promising a number of meetings in the contract
- Building on done-for-you domains the client can never own
Good match, poor match
You’ll probably do well here if you like spreadsheets, can write a short email that sounds like a person, and don’t mind checking DNS records and reply inboxes every weekday.
Look elsewhere if you want income without client calls, dislike being judged on someone else’s sales offer, or would be tempted to cut corners on opt-outs to hit a number.

Questions about earning with Instantly
Can you make money with Instantly?
Yes, mainly by running cold email campaigns for small B2B firms. Fiverr’s 2026 cost guide puts ongoing campaign management at $400 to $800 a month, though nothing guarantees you will land clients or that their campaigns will book meetings.
How much should I charge for an Instantly setup?
Somewhere between $150 and $300 is a defensible starting range for a full setup. Fiverr’s guide gives $150 to $300 for a complex automation setup, while bare Instantly setup gigs on Fiverr start at $15 to $40 and usually cover only connecting mailboxes and warmup.
Is cold email legal for B2B in the US?
Yes, if you follow CAN-SPAM. The FTC says the law makes no exception for business-to-business email, so every message needs accurate headers, an honest subject line, a postal address and a working opt-out honoured within 10 business days.
Can I email UK sole traders with Instantly?
Usually not without consent. The ICO treats sole traders and some partnerships like individuals, so you need their specific consent or the soft opt-in, while limited companies can be emailed without prior consent as long as you identify yourself and offer an opt-out.
Does Instantly have an affiliate program?
Yes. It runs through PartnerStack, pays 20% recurring commission at the first tier rising to 30% and 40% after 50 and 75 referrals, requires approval and bans paid ads on your affiliate link.
These are examples, not income claims. Rates come from public listings and guides checked on 23 October 2026, your results will differ, and nothing here is legal advice. I don’t earn a commission from Instantly.
