Instantly is a cold email platform that sends outreach from many inboxes at once, warms them up and adds AI agents for writing and handling replies, and it is best for agencies, consultants and small B2B sales teams that already know who they want to reach. Its outreach plans start at $47 a month, or $37.60 a month billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial (checked 23 October 2026), and I score it 5.8 out of 10. My angle is the bill you don’t see on the pricing page: once you pay for enough inboxes to use the plan, the plan itself can be under a tenth of the cost. And Trustpilot has hidden Instantly’s rating after removing fake reviews, which I think buyers should know.
Disclosure: I don’t earn a commission from Instantly. It runs an affiliate program through PartnerStack, but I haven’t joined it, so every Instantly link on this page is a plain link.

Instantly on one card
| Line | What it comes to |
|---|---|
| Time | Connecting inboxes is quick; warmup and DNS setup mean days before a real campaign goes out |
| Cost | Growth $47 a month ($451.20 a year billed yearly), plus inboxes, domains and lead credits |
| Output | Multi-inbox cold email sequences, warmup, a shared reply inbox and AI agents for copy and replies |
| Real earning path | Running cold email campaigns for small B2B firms on a monthly retainer |
| Overall | 5.8/10 |
Who it’s for, and who should walk away
Worth a trial if you sell to businesses, have an offer people already buy, and want to send a few thousand personalised emails a month from several inboxes without juggling Gmail tabs.
Walk away if you were hoping for a newsletter tool, you need a refund safety net, or you plan to buy lists and blast them. Instantly won’t save a weak offer, and the terms leave the legal risk with you.
How I checked Instantly
I haven’t used Instantly for paid client work, so this is a research review, not a hands-on test. On 23 October 2026 I read Instantly’s pricing page, its Terms of Use (last updated 22 September 2026), five help-centre articles on the trial, limits, cancellation and done-for-you inboxes, its affiliate page, the Trustpilot and G2 review pages, Google’s sender guidelines, the FTC’s CAN-SPAM guide and the pricing pages of three rivals. My scores:
| Area | Score | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Ease of use | 7/10 | G2 users rate it highly, but recent Trustpilot reviews complain about the redesigned interface |
| Output quality | 7/10 | Warmup and multi-inbox sending get steady praise; deliverability complaints still appear |
| Value for money | 6/10 | Cheap entry plan, but inboxes, domains and lead credits are all billed separately |
| Trust and support | 3/10 | Trustpilot rating pulled over fake reviews, strict no-refund terms, support complaints |
| Overall | 5.8/10 | Average of the four (5.75), rounded |

The company behind it is Foo Monk, LLC, with a notice address in Sheridan, Wyoming, according to the Terms. Starter Story dates the business to 2021 and describes it as bootstrapped, with an estimated $20 million in annual revenue as of May 2024; that figure is an outside estimate, not a company filing. Instantly’s homepage claims more than 50,000 sales teams use it.
Is Instantly free?
No, but the trial is generous enough to test the workflow. It lasts 14 days, starts at sign-up and needs no card. You get up to 2 email accounts, 250 uploaded leads, 1,000 campaign emails, 100 lead credits and 2 inbox placement tests. When it ends, warmup and campaigns pause, and an account that never upgrades is deleted automatically, so export anything you want to keep.
How much does Instantly cost per month?
The cheapest sending plan, Growth, costs $47 a month or $37.60 a month billed yearly. Instantly sells sending (Outreach), lead data (Credits) and bundles of the two as separate products:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Billed yearly (per month) | Emails a month | Uploaded contacts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $47 | $37.60 | 5,000 | 1,000 |
| Hypergrowth | $97 | $77.60 | 125,000 | 25,000 |
| Light Speed | $358 | $286.30 | 500,000 | 100,000 |
| Starter bundle (adds 1,500 credits) | $94 | $85 | 5,000 | 1,000 |
| Scale bundle (adds 5,000 credits) | $194 | $175 | 100,000 | 25,000 |
Two things stood out. The Starter bundle costs exactly what Growth plus Growth Credits cost separately ($94), so the bundle saves nothing on monthly billing. And the pricing page contradicts itself: the comparison table lists Hypergrowth at $97, while the bundle section shows $358 next to the same name. Check the checkout screen, not the marketing page.
What does sending 5,000 cold emails really cost?
Roughly $89.50 a month on Growth, not $47, once you pay for the inboxes to send them. Instantly’s own help centre recommends 30 campaign emails per account per day. At 22 sending days a month, 5,000 emails needs 8 inboxes. Instantly’s done-for-you Google accounts cost $5 each a month, with domains at $15 a year and a maximum of 5 accounts per domain. My arithmetic:
| Plan used to its limit | Inboxes needed | Plan | Inboxes and domains | Total a month | Per 1,000 emails | Plan’s share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth, 5,000 emails | 8 | $47 | $42.50 | $89.50 | $17.90 | 52.5% |
| Hypergrowth, 125,000 emails | 190 | $97 | $997.50 | $1,094.50 | $8.76 | 8.9% |
| Light Speed, 500,000 emails | 758 | $358 | $3,980 | $4,338 | $8.68 | 8.3% |
The phrase “unlimited email accounts” is true, but each account costs money somewhere. Buying your own Google Workspace seats instead runs $7 a user a month on Starter, according to Google’s pricing page, so 8 inboxes come to $56 before domains.

What do Instantly’s AI agents actually do?
They write, find and answer, with you checking the work. The homepage lists an AI Sales Agent, an AI Reply Agent, a Lead Finder Agent and Instantly AI (Copilot), which it says can find leads, write copy and build campaigns end to end. The credit plans add a 450-million-plus B2B lead database, waterfall email enrichment from five or more providers, a Web Researcher Agent and the option to bring your own LLM key. Around that sit the older features people actually buy it for: unlimited inboxes, warmup, a shared reply inbox called Unibox, a CRM and inbox placement tests. A ChatGPT connection is live; a Claude connection is listed as coming soon.
Instantly’s own walkthrough shows the campaign builder and warmup screens:
Who owns the domains you buy through Instantly?
Instantly does. Its help article on done-for-you Google setup says Instantly keeps domain ownership and admin access, and you are “unable to transfer them over.” The accounts only work inside Instantly, and if you cancel every account on a domain, the domain expires. That is fine for a throwaway test. For an agency building a client’s outreach, it means the client never owns the sending domains, so I would buy domains on the client’s own registrar instead. Cancelling done-for-you accounts also takes effect immediately, and their reply history is deleted after a 24-hour grace period.
Can you get a refund from Instantly?
No. Section 5.3 of the Terms says, in capitals, that all fees are non-refundable and non-cancellable, and section 5.1 adds that unused fees for a started month or year aren’t refunded. Plans renew automatically at the then-current price. To stop, go to Settings, then Billing and Usage, and cancel each product separately before the renewal date; the help centre says there is no pause option, and add-ons for Outbound and Data Credits need a message to chat support. Several Trustpilot reviewers describe unexpected renewals, so set a calendar reminder on day 10 of the trial if you subscribe.
Is it legal to send cold email with Instantly?
Yes, in the US and UK, if you follow the rules, and Instantly’s Terms put that duty on you. Section 4.6 names the CAN-SPAM Act and makes the customer responsible for compliance. The FTC says CAN-SPAM covers business-to-business email too, with penalties of up to $53,088 per violating email. Google adds its own gate: senders should keep the reported spam rate below 0.1% and never reach 0.3%, and bulk senders need SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe on marketing mail. In the UK, the ICO lets you email limited companies without prior consent but treats sole traders like individuals.
Why did Trustpilot remove Instantly’s rating?
Because it found fake reviews. On 23 October 2026 Instantly’s Trustpilot page carried a warning label and said: “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines,” adding that it had “removed a number of fake reviews.” The page still lists 1,178 reviews, 353 of them from the past year, with 66% five-star and 26% one-star. Recent complaints, the newest dated 20 October 2026, cover the new interface, renewals and refused refunds, slow support, deliverability, and reply limits on lower plans. Praise centres on warmup, sending and quick campaign launches. Instantly replies to many reviews.
G2 tells a happier story: 4.8 out of 5 from 4,161 reviews. G2’s audience skews towards people still using the product, and I can’t tell from outside how either site’s numbers were gathered, which is why the Trustpilot notice weighs heavily in my trust score.

Is Smartlead or Lemlist cheaper than Instantly?
Smartlead and Saleshandy are cheaper at the entry level; Lemlist costs more but bundles more volume.

|---|---|---|---|
| Instantly Growth | $47/mo, $37.60 billed yearly | 5,000 emails, 1,000 contacts | 14 days, no card |
| Smartlead Base | $39/mo, $32 billed yearly | 6,000 emails, 2,000 active leads | Free trial, no card |

| Lemlist Email | $55/mo billed yearly ($69 struck through) | 50,000 emails | 14 days |
| Make.com or n8n | See my reviews | Credits or executions | Free tiers |
If your emails need a proofread before they go out, my Grammarly review covers what the paid tier adds. For warm leads on Instagram rather than cold ones in the inbox, see the Manychat review.
So, is Instantly worth it?
For a B2B seller or agency that will follow the sending limits, yes, on the trial first and then Growth billed monthly until you know it works. Budget for inboxes and domains from day one, buy domains you own, and assume you’ll never see a refund. If trust and support matter more to you than the lead database, try Smartlead or Saleshandy’s trial side by side before you pay anyone.
Turning cold email setups into client work
Small B2B firms pay freelancers to set up and run this kind of outreach every month. My earning guide covers real Fiverr rates, a worked three-client example and the US and UK rules to put in every contract.
Instantly questions people ask
Is Instantly free?
No. There is no free plan, only a 14-day free trial with no card required, capped at 2 email accounts, 250 uploaded leads, 1,000 campaign emails and 100 lead credits.
How much does Instantly cost per month?
$47 a month for the Growth outreach plan, or $37.60 a month billed yearly, with 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts. Hypergrowth is $97 and Light Speed $358 on monthly billing, and lead credits are a separate subscription.
Does Instantly give refunds?
No. Section 5.3 of its Terms says all fees are non-refundable and non-cancellable, and plans renew automatically until you cancel in Settings, Billing and Usage before the renewal date.
Is Instantly legit?
Yes, it is a real, widely used cold email platform run by Foo Monk, LLC, with a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 4,161 G2 reviews. Trustpilot, however, shows its rating as unavailable after removing a number of fake reviews.
How many emails can I send per inbox on Instantly?
About 30 campaign emails per account per day for ordinary mailboxes, according to Instantly’s help centre, or up to 20 for its AirMail inboxes. Warmup emails don’t count towards that limit.
Is Instantly better than Smartlead?
Not on price at the entry level. Smartlead’s Base plan is $39 a month for 6,000 emails against Instantly’s $47 for 5,000, so the choice comes down to which interface, lead database and support you prefer.
