Beautiful.ai Review 2026: $174 a Year or $45 a Month

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes a score. How this works.

Beautiful.ai is an AI presentation maker that drafts a deck from a prompt and keeps every slide’s layout tidy on its own, and it suits consultants, marketers and small teams who make client decks often but don’t want to design them. It has no free plan; Pro costs $14.50 a month billed annually, or $174 a year (checked 20 October 2026), and I score it 6.5 out of 10. My angle is the price: pay monthly and Pro is $45, many pages still quote the old $12, and refunds close after 24 hours.

Disclosure: I don’t earn a commission from Beautiful.ai. It runs an affiliate program through PartnerStack, but I haven’t joined it, so every Beautiful.ai link on this page is a plain link.

Who should pay, who should walk away

Pay for it if you build decks most weeks, value consistent on-brand slides over free-form design, and will pay for a year at once.

Walk away if you present a few times a year, want full control or rich animation, or strict refunds worry you. Gamma, Canva or PowerPoint cost less.

Where my Beautiful.ai numbers come from

I haven’t used Beautiful.ai for paid client work, so this review is built from documents, not a long hands-on test. On 20 October 2026 I read its pricing page, Terms of Service (revised 22 August 2025), help articles on refunds, cancelling and AI models, the affiliate terms, review pages on Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra, and four rivals’ prices. My scores:

AreaScoreWhy
Ease of use8/10Smart Slides do the alignment for you; Capterra reviewers rate ease of use 4.2 out of 5
Output quality7/10Clean, consistent layouts, but reviewers find customisation limiting and exports can need cleanup
Value for money5/10No free plan, $174 a year for one person and $45 on monthly billing
Trust and support6/10Inputs aren’t used for training and Trustpilot replies are fast, but refunds are tight and Capterra rates support 3.4
Overall6.5/10Average of the four

Is Beautiful.ai free?

No. Beautiful.ai has no free plan in 2026, only a 14-day free trial of Pro or Team, and the trial needs a credit card. The pricing page says that if you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your card “will be charged in full.” Students with a valid .edu email get a year free.

Older reviews still call it free; TechRadar’s 2018 review lists “free to use online” as a pro. That is long out of date, so set a reminder for day 13 of the trial.

How much does Beautiful.ai cost per month?

Pro costs $14.50 a month if you pay $174 for the year up front, and $45 if you pay month by month.

PlanBilled annuallyBilled monthlyWho it’s for
Pro$14.50 a month ($174 a year)$45 a monthOne person
Team$40 a month$50 a month2 to 20 members, shared themes and asset library

Prices from Beautiful.ai’s pricing page, checked 20 October 2026. Annual totals are my arithmetic.

The affiliate terms confirm the $45 option is simply Pro billed monthly. Over 12 months that is $540 against $174, or 3.1 times as much: $366 extra. Team comes to $480 a year on annual billing and $600 monthly. One month at $45 is fine for a single pitch; past four months, annual is cheaper.

Is Team priced per person or for three people?

The pricing page says both: the Team card promises “fixed pricing for up to three users,” while its FAQ says $40 per user for 2 to 20 seats. PricingSaaS logged the switch to a flat price in mid-September 2026. If it holds, three people on annual Team pay $160 each a year. Get it in writing before checkout.

Why does the Pro price change depending on where you look?

Because it went up and not every page caught up. Fast Company quoted $144 a year in April 2024, the affiliate terms updated 10 June 2026 still say “Pro Annual ($144/yr)”, and a Beautiful.ai ad landing page and its own Gamma comparison page, both opened on 20 October 2026, still say $12 a month. The real figure, $174, is $30 or 20.8% higher.

The Terms say plans renew at “then-current pricing”, so anyone who signed up at $144 should expect the new price at renewal.

What do Smart Slides and the AI builder actually do?

Smart Slides are 300-plus layouts that adjust spacing and alignment as you add content, so nothing spills off the slide. That is the selling point and the main complaint: you work inside the layouts, not freely.

The AI builder works outline-first. You describe the deck by typing, speaking or attaching documents or links, edit the text outline it writes, choose a theme, image source and language, then generate and refine slide by slide. The pricing page calls AI generation unlimited on every plan, against Gamma’s 1,000 credits a month on Plus and 4,000 on Pro.

Text features run on Gemini and Claude, images on Imagen and DALL-E, per a March 2026 help article. Integrations include PowerPoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Slack and Airtable.

Export is better than its old reputation: an August 2026 Beautiful.ai blog post says you get “a fully editable .pptx file,” though audio and animations don’t transfer, and a Capterra reviewer that month said exports “can also require some cleanup.”

Who owns your slides, and is your content used for AI training?

You own your content, with a wrinkle. Section 5.2 of the Terms says you keep rights in your data and presentations, but output based on Beautiful.ai’s own materials, such as its layouts, stays Beautiful.ai’s and “may not be unique” to you. The help center says “Anything you input into Beautiful.ai is never used to train the AI models.”

Freelancers should note section 2.2, which licenses use for “internal business or personal, non-commercial purposes”, and section 2.4(c), which bans reselling or sublicensing. Client work isn’t mentioned, so my earning guide suggests working in the client’s own account.

Can you get a refund from Beautiful.ai?

Rarely. Section 4.2 of the Terms says “All fees are non-refundable and non-cancellable.” The help article (updated 29 April 2026) allows a partial refund on annual plans only if you ask within 24 hours of purchase or renewal, minus an unstated processing fee. Monthly plans get nothing back.

To cancel, sign in on a desktop, open Manage Account, then Billing, then Manage Plan. You keep access until the end of the billing cycle.

What do paying users complain about?

Billing, mostly. On 20 October 2026 Beautiful.ai had a Trustpilot TrustScore of 3.0 from 212 reviews; the negative ones on the first page, from January and February 2026, describe annual charges after a trial, trouble cancelling and refused refunds. The company had replied to 94% of negative reviews, usually within a week.

G2 showed 4.6 out of 5 from 196 reviews and Capterra 4.2 from 86, with customer service at 3.4. An August 2026 Capterra reviewer found customisation “limiting” and pricing “a bit high”; a March 2026 reviewer called support “dismissive.” The praise is consistent: non-designers say their decks look professional.

The good and the irritating

Good

  • Smart Slides keep spacing and alignment consistent
  • AI generation isn’t metered in credits
  • Outline-first builder lets you fix structure before design
  • Editable PowerPoint export
  • Says your inputs never train its AI models

Irritating

  • No free plan, and the trial needs a card
  • $45 a month unless you pay for a year
  • 24-hour refund window on annual plans, with a fee
  • Less layout freedom than PowerPoint or Canva
  • Team pricing contradicts itself on the same page

Is Gamma, Canva or Plus AI a better deal?

On price, usually yes, especially if you only present now and then. Each rival leans a different way:

ToolPrice checked 20 Oct 2026AI limitsBest for
Beautiful.ai Pro$14.50/mo billed annually, $45 monthlyDescribed as unlimitedConsistent, on-brand slide decks
GammaPlus about $9/mo, Pro about $18/mo (eesel, June 2026)1,000 or 4,000 credits a monthFast drafts and web-style decks
Canva ProUS$144 a yearSee my reviewSlides plus social graphics (my Canva review)
Plus AIBasic $10/mo annual or $15 monthly; Pro $20 or $251,500 or 3,000 credits a monthWorking inside Google Slides and PowerPoint
PreziStandard $7, Plus $15, Premium $25 a month billed annually (Layer3 Labs, 12 Oct 2026)Not comparedZooming, non-linear talks
Gamma’s own pricing page didn’t display prices when I fetched it, and I couldn’t load Prezi’s, so those two figures come from the dated third-party pages named.

Is Beautiful.ai worth paying for?

Yes, if decks are a weekly job and you pay annually. At $174 a year the layouts save fiddly alignment work and the AI isn’t metered. For occasional use, $45 a month, no free plan and a 24-hour refund window make Gamma, Canva or Plus AI the safer first try. Test the trial on a real deck and cancel by day 13 if it doesn’t stick.

Can you make money with Beautiful.ai?

Yes, as the tool behind a deck-design service rather than on its own. My earning guide covers what Fiverr sellers and agencies charge, a worked month in numbers and how to stay inside the Terms when the deck belongs to a client.

Beautiful.ai questions people ask

Is Beautiful.ai free?

No. There is no free plan in 2026; Pro and Team come with a 14-day free trial that needs a credit card, and students with a valid .edu email get a year free.

How much is Beautiful.ai Pro per month?

$14.50 a month if you pay $174 for a year up front, or $45 if you pay month to month. Older articles that say $12 a month or $144 a year are out of date.

Is Beautiful.ai better than Gamma?

It is better for tidy, on-brand slide decks and worse on price. Gamma’s plans start lower and suit fast, web-style documents, but its AI runs on monthly credits, while Beautiful.ai says its AI generation has no credit limits.

Can Beautiful.ai export to PowerPoint?

Yes. It exports an editable .pptx file, not flattened images, but animations and audio do not carry over, and some reviewers say exported files need cleanup.

Can I get a refund from Beautiful.ai?

Usually not. Monthly plans are not refundable, and annual plans may get a partial refund only if you ask within 24 hours of purchase or renewal, minus a processing fee.

Does Beautiful.ai use my content to train AI?

No, according to its help center, which says anything you input is never used to train the AI models. Text features use Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude, and images use Google’s Imagen and OpenAI’s DALL-E.
